“Gone” is a track from New Zealand–Korean singer Rosé’s debut single album R (2021). It was released on April 4, 2021 through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records as the album’s second single. Rosé co-wrote and composed the song together with Brian Lee, J. Lauryn, and Teddy, while production was handled by Brian Lee and 24. Musically, “Gone” is a romantic ballad blending soft rock, alternative rock, and indie rock, telling the story of mourning a past love while facing the loneliness of what comes after. It also became Rosé’s final solo song under YG and Interscope, following her departure from both companies in December 2023.
The song was released as a single alongside its music video on April 4. Directed by Kwon Yong-soo, the video depicts Rosé wandering through an ornate, old house as she grieves the end of a relationship. In South Korea, “Gone” reached #6 on the Gaon Digital Chart and #5 on the Billboard K-pop Hot 100. Internationally, it topped the charts in Malaysia, entered the Top 10 in Hungary and Singapore, and debuted within the Top 100 in countries including Australia and Canada. It also peaked at #29 on the Billboard Global 200. Rosé performed “Gone” across several major Korean music shows—including M Countdown, Show! Music Core, and Inkigayo—as well as during BLACKPINK’s virtual concert The Show and the Born Pink World Tour.
