About the Song
《TT》 is a song recorded by South Korean girl group TWICE and released on October 24, 2016, as the title track of their third mini album Twicecoaster: Lane 1 through JYP Entertainment. Written by Sam Lewis and composed by hit-making duo Black Eyed Pilseung, the song takes its name from the crying emoticon “TT,” symbolizing sadness, frustration, and emotional confusion in young love. Upon release, 《TT》 drew immediate attention for its catchy hook and expressive choreography, and its Japanese version later served as the lead single for the group’s first Japanese compilation album #Twice, with the official music video unveiled on June 21, 2017. The song’s popularity was further extended through a remix titled “TT (TAK Remix)”, included as a bonus track on the special album Twicecoaster: Lane 2.

But we’re still strangers

I feel beautiful
In front of the mirror
Having a fashion show show

I’ll talk to you first
But it’s just a promise
Every time, just a promise

I start to hum a song
Without realizing
I feel like I’m about to cry

The more I’m drawn to you
Why do I keep getting pulled back, baby?

You don’t know how I feel
It’s too much, it’s too much
Just like TT
Tell me that you’d be my baby

the song captures the confusion of standing between childhood and adulthood, where emotions feel overwhelming and impossible to control. it reflects the frustration of liking someone deeply while being unable to act freely, creating a loop of hesitation, self-doubt, and longing. beneath its playful surface, the meaning centers on emotional vulnerability, immaturity, and the honest fear of expressing love before knowing how to handle it.
