About the Song
“One More Chance” is a single from SUPER JUNIOR’s album Play, released on October 30, 2017, marking the group’s return after a two-year hiatus during which most members were serving their mandatory military duty. It is also the first single released under their dedicated label, Label SJ. The track features only seven members—Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Donghae, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Siwon—while Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were enlisted, Sungmin did not participate due to ongoing fan backlash since his 2014 marriage, and Kangin remained inactive following his 2016 DUI incident. Rumors of a comeback tied to the group’s 12th anniversary emerged in mid-2017 when Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Siwon completed their service, though Label SJ initially denied having a fixed release date. On October 18, the label officially announced the album title Play. The song was first introduced by Donghae on SJ Returns on October 19, where he read parts of the lyrics, and it was later revealed on October 25 that “One More Chance” had been selected as the pre-release single over “Scene Stealer.” The track was officially released on October 30, ahead of the album’s full release on November 6.
