《SUPER JUNIOR-T (Unit Overview)》 describes the formation of SUPER JUNIOR’s third official unit, created by rotating Heechul out and bringing Yesung in from SUPER JUNIOR-T. Built around members with strong variety-show presence and high public recognition, the unit embraced a bright and playful concept while also filling the promotional gap left by SUPER JUNIOR-M’s Chinese-market activities. Alongside SM’s in-house composers, they incorporated works from notable 1990s writers such as Lee Seung-ho, Lee Yong-min, and Park Hae-woon, giving the team a nostalgic charm. Their signature hit “Cooking? Cooking!” became especially iconic, remaining widely familiar even 17 years after release due to its frequent use on home-shopping broadcasts. Although a winter comeback was reportedly planned for late 2009, it was canceled following Kangin’s controversies and further disrupted by Hangeng’s lawsuit, prompting SM to restructure schedules and refocus on core SUPER JUNIOR activities. Later, disputes related to Sungmin’s marriage added more uncertainty, effectively halting unit operations. Despite its clear importance in diversifying SUPER JUNIOR’s sub-unit strategy and enriching the SUPER SHOW concert content, a combination of events left the unit unable to continue.
