About the Song

《A-CHA》 is the lead single from ’s fourth repackage album, released on September 19, 2011 through SM Entertainment and distributed by KMP Holdings. The track originally appeared on the group’s fifth studio album Mr. Simple, and later returned in Japanese on their 2013 debut album Hero. After unveiling “Mr. Simple” in August 2011, announced the repackage album on September 15, releasing 《A-CHA》 just four days later.

Performed by nine active members—Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Sungmin, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun—the song blends electro house and rock, creating a distinct break from earlier hits like “Sorry, Sorry” and “Bonamana,” which shaped the group’s signature SJ Funky sound. Composed and arranged by Hitchhiker, the track moves at 125 BPM in D major. Lyricist Kim Bumin frames the narrative around a determined protagonist trying to hold onto a wavering lover, drawing loose inspiration from the unwavering persistence of Don Quixote’s Alonso Quixano.
