About the Song
“RAINBOW” is the repackage edition of GFRIEND’s fifth mini-album PARALLEL, released on September 13, 2017 through LOEN Entertainment. The title track “Summer Rain” compares a once-fickle but beautiful love to a passing summer shower, incorporating a sample from Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe (“Im wunderschönen Monat Mai”). As the follow-up to “Love Whisper,” it continues the group’s narrative series. The repackage also includes “RAINBOW,” a song that reflects the hope that appears after difficult times, much like a rainbow after rain. Its guide version originally featured English lyrics and carried a stronger rock influence than the final release.
